Steel Wire Research Field

Established to develop production technologies and products for tire reinforcements using steel wire materials (such as Steel cord, Bead wire), the Wire Research Institute is a specialized research organization focused on steel-based materials. It develops sustainable and next-generation tire reinforcements, ultra-fine wires, wafer slicing wires, and specialty steel wires.
With the goal of a sustainable future, the institute leads research and technological development by focusing on eco-friendly raw materials and process innovations that contribute to resource conservation and environmental protection.

Since its founding in 1986, the Wire Research Institute has expanded beyond Korea, establishing Technical Centers in major overseas production hubs including Vietnam and China. Through continuous innovation and bold challenges, it continues to create a new history in advanced wire materials.

Carbon Materials Research Field

The Carbon Materials Research Team has developed ultra-high strength and high modulus carbon fibers as differentiated new products, in addition to standard and intermediate modulus carbon fibers. The team continues to conduct ongoing research to enhance material properties and improve product quality.

Aramid Research Field

The Aramid Research Team has developed high modulus yarns, high strength yarns, staple fibers, and a variety of ballistic solutions to expand its aramid product portfolio and enhance competitiveness. To further improve quality, the team is conducting research on enhancing heat resistance and improving processability for high-strength and tire cord-grade yarns.
